A Wedding Like No Other – Sana & Adel’s Cruise Wedding Completely Awed Us In ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ Style!

Dubai, a city known for setting world records, set yet another record when Adel Sajan, heir to Dubai based Danube Group, and Sana Khan, former beauty queen, artist and writer, were united in the world’s first ever fully chartered cruise wedding. One of the top 5 most expensive weddings, the affair amounted to AED 30 million. Clearly, the only thing the couple couldn’t afford was overlooking any detail. More than 2 tons of flowers from various continents, 75 of India’s best chefs, a team of 42 beauticians and hair specialists to give the guests a makeover as per each theme, and 6 people to tie turbans for the baraat ceremony were all specially flown in to make the wedding utterly perfect.

On April 6th, the chartered luxury cruise liner left Barcelona with over a 1,000 guests, including celebrities like Gauhar Khan, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Malaika Arora Khan, Gurmeet Choudhary and wife Debina, Rohit Roy and wife Manasi, Shilpa and Shamita Shetty, Dia Mirza, the rapper Badshah, the Meet Bros, and Vishal-Shekhar.

The 4-day wedding extravaganza throughout the Mediterranean began with a retro welcome dinner, followed by high tea. The guests danced the following night away to some hip-shaking songs played by Badshah and music duo Vishal & Shekhar for the Sangeet.

On April 8th, the Italian liner docked at Cannes for the big fat desi wedding ceremony. A special water rocket show was organized for the baraat as the groom and his family and friends journeyed around the outer decks of the liner to the bride.

The Gala night aka the grand white ballroom-themed reception, saw a performance by synchronized swimmers. What’s more, Sana glowed—yes, we mean literally glowed—in a white Neeta Lulla gown.
