Sumit & Monica's Wedding in Dubai, UAE
When two friends, Sumit and Monica, realize they are meant for each other, a lavish wedding celebration ensues in their hometown Dubai.
How we met:
We’ve been friends for a really long time and always knew we had a great connection with each other. Then one fine day, cupid struck us both and sparks started flying – it didn’t take us long to realize that it’s meant to be.
After our Roka (Engagement), we had approximately 8 months to plan the wedding which I feel was the perfect amount of time as it wasn’t too rushed. So we started off by searching for venues, and once that was finalized, we found our wedding décor planner. Then we moved on to shopping for our wedding dresses and wedding invitations. The last few weeks were spent on finalizing every single detail and checking everything off our list.
Our Mehendi night had a color theme of yellow, pink and green.
For our Wedding night, we wanted it to be outdoors by the beach with lots of Maroon and Gold, and hence decided on a royal Victorian theme.
For our Cocktail night, we were looking for a fairy-tale theme with mystic blue and white colours in the background. As you can see from the pics, FNP brought all of our décor wishes to reality and we were elated when we walked into our function.
Feelings on the Big Day:
Our first wedding function was the Mehendi, and I think that was the only day I was nervous as the venue had to be shifted at the last moment due to bad weather and we weren’t sure how it would end up. But thanks to Mr. Chaitanya and the staff at Atlantis, everything was well taken care of. After we made our entrance during the function, the nervousness was all gone and excitement kicked in. By the end of the night, I had kicked off my heels and was dancing the night away. The second wedding function was the Cocktail night and it turned out to be the most exciting and memorable function for us, simply because every single guest that night ended up on the dance floor! As soon as we made our entrance, we were elated to see that the wedding décor had been done flawlessly and every single detail was exactly how we had pictured it. This was all thanks to Chaitanya from FNP. And then finally, the Big Day arrived – our Wedding! The decoration was again perfect – full of Maroons & Golds; the night was all about wedding fun and rituals. My entrance on the Wedding night was on a palki which was carried by my father, brothers and cousins which made it a very emotional moment for me. But when Sumit smiled at me and held my hand after getting off the palki, I couldn’t help but feel as if I’m the luckiest girl in the world! Although wedding nights are full of laughter, giggles and happy tears, knowing you are marrying the love of your life makes it the happiest day of your life. As they say, “If, at the end of the day, you are married to the one you love, then everything falls into place perfectly.”
Sumit and I travelled to Delhi & Mumbai together to shop for our dresses since we both wanted each other’s opinion while choosing the perfect outfit. Needless to say, this made the wedding shopping process a lot easier and fun.

Advice for to-be-weds:
There’s no denying that your wedding planning is going to be stressful, especially if you’ve planned most of it by yourself. But when your day is finally here, let go of all the stress and anxiety and just enjoy your day to the fullest, because it’s your Big Day and it’s the time to enjoy all of your hard work!
