Simranjeet & Simrat's Wedding in Pattaya, Thailand

For the Sikh couple, Simranjeet and Simrat, Thailand seemed as the most viable
option, and the celebration of their love was nothing short of magnificent!

How we met:

We were together in high school, but didn’t know each other back then. Years later, we got in touch via Facebook and discovered we were in the same school.

Wedding Planning and Decor:

Even though we had a year to plan the whole thing, it was really stressful. My sister, Seja Marwah, helped us plan the entire wedding and she was the one who handled everything.

It was a destination wedding, so the stress was next level, as you can only manage things to a certain limit while sitting in a different country.

Feelings on the Big Day:

I was extremely nervous before I reached the Gurudwara. But as soon as I walked in and saw Simranjeet, everything felt okay! He made sure I was relaxed during the Pheras, by cracking a joke or two in between.

Wedding Shopping:

My wedding shopping was the easiest thing for me, as I exactly knew what I wanted and where I wanted it from.

Schedule of events and outfits worn on each function:

Nov 5
Welcome Lunch & Cocktail – Gown by Gaurav Gupta

Nov 6
Mehendi – Lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

\

Nov 7
Wedding – Lehenga by Anita Dongre

Wedding Venues:

Both of us wanted a destination wedding and Thailand seemed like the most viable option, as it well experienced with hosting Indian weddings. We went to scout for some locations in January 2017, and fell in love with Dusit
Thani! The friendliness and flexibility of the staff made it easier for us to finalize on this hotel.

Performers & Performances:

We had a couple of dances.
Girls: Laung Gawacha
Boys: 3 Peg (Bhangra)
Couple: Befikre

Few words on the wedding planner, photographer, videographer, hair/make-up artist, bartenders and DJ:

The entire team was very friendly and listened to every suggestion we made. While selecting my wedding vendors, I had only one thing in mind – professionalism – and all of them set a pretty high benchmark.

Advice for to-be-weds:

One thing that no one will tell you is that you will have a lot of arguments and disagreements while planning the wedding, so hear each other out and don’t forget the bigger picture.
