Shivanth & Kamana's Pre-Wedding Shoot in Washington, USA
We met online during the end of December. When Shivanth first came to visit me in DC, the first thing I noticed was his smile. We met for brunch and ended up spending the day together, talking, laughing, getting to know each other. He was sweet, funny, and we ended up on a 10 hour long first date. Even that winter was really cold, the weekend he came, the weather was amazing we were about to walk around and explore the city. That’s the thing with us – everything always works out and feels so much better when we are together.
When it came time to plan our engagement photos – my Fiancé and I knew we wanted to include the city closest to my heart. Born and raised in the D.C. area, I have always felt like D.C. was home. Since I will be moving to Sonoma County after our wedding, having our engagement photos in D.C. made the day even more memorable. Walking past the Supreme Court and Library of Congress – I was always amazed by the history and beauty of the locations. We knew they would be the perfect spots for our shoot!
When deciding on what to wear, my fiancé is very fuss free. So we decided to do one causal shoot, which he loved and one more glam shoot, which I loved. Have I mentioned that Shiv and I are total opposites!
Thankfully, our values and core beliefs keep our relationship strong.
I did get pretty stressed before our engagement shoot since I wanted it to be perfect. In the end, the weather was beautiful (60 degrees in February!), we had fun, and Sunny from Photographick captured the photos beautifully. Sunny was patient, understanding, and so fun to work with! I have learned that with the wedding, I have to trust in God’s plan and that things will always work out. While there will be some bumps along the way, if we enjoy, smile, and laugh everything will work out!
About the Look:
When I saw a peacock color Badgley Mischka gown, it was love at first sight. The bold color was so different from the colors I normally gravitate to. For the casual shoot, I picked out a pink Missoni dress, which was comfortable and graceful. I paired earrings from Treasures in Vogue for both looks, which complimented the dresses. Finally Louboutins finished out my look! Jasmine from Mod Girl Makeup made me look and feel so amazing. She did my makeup and hair to perfection. And my Bombay Hair extensions gave my look that extra touch of glam!
