Pre-wedding Photo Shoot Locations in Tanzania!

“Her dress bellowed in the wind, a stunning shade of crimson, bold against dark rugged stones of the old castle. He held her in his arms, with the stature and poise of a King, eyes blazing in passion.

It was a perfect picture, one no doubt the bride would be using to announce her marriage to the world”

As little girls, we always dreamed of the perfect picture: of us and our Mr. Right. A moment captured just as the sun sets, during a walk by the beach, or perhaps a memory of a stolen moment in the busy city.

Here at The Wedding Script, we know how hard it can be to find perfect locations for these photos. So, we’ve made a list of a few pre-wedding shoot locations in Tanzania that are bound to give you ideas for your very own special photo moment.

1) Bonded by the Beach

This classic seashells-by-the-seashore, sand-crumbling-beneath-your-toes, waves-lapping-at-your-feet location may seem like a cliché, but it is the safest and most promising of all locations. Be it sunrise, sunset, or during the peak of the day, you can be assured that the bold colored skies and textured waters of the beaches in Tanzania create the perfect background. Not to mention the summery weather all year round, which means that your timing will never be wrong!

Some of the best beaches in Tanzania can be found only an hour’s (or less) car ride outside the city, such as White Sands Resort – Oysterbay, Coco beach, Obama Avenue and Mbudya Island.

2) Soul Search at Slipway

If you’ve been to Tanzania, you know Slipway is basically a 3-in-1 representative of the commercial, cultural and tourist scene in Dar es Salaam.

Home to a fancy hotel, local market and beautiful pier, imagine all the different stories you’d be able to convey with your photos! At Slipway, you can opt for a ‘casual Sunday out’ shoot: sipping ice-coffee at a café, or sharing ice cream from the quaint little ice-cream parlor.

If you’re looking for a more colorful and cultural vibe, purchase matching Kitenge’s or Dashiki’s (locally made clothing) for yourselves, and embrace the Tanzanian culture in the community market. End your day with a couple of candid shots from a walk on the pier. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

3) Nestle in Nature

Excitement and frenzy and color is fun, but some of us need a quiet corner to nestle in. Quiet cool forests, secluded tree clearings and rural villages – sounds like the perfect combination for a relaxing and intimate shoot.

On the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, lies the city of Iringa. Home to the Ruaha National Park, this is the perfect place to click romantic photos in mother nature’s cradle, complete with animals et all. For those looking closer to the commercial city of Dar es Salaam, the woods on Obama Avenue serve as the perfect location for a cosy, private couples’ shoot.

If you’re willing to take this theme to another level, take a weekend trip to one of the many Masai villages for a truly wild and tribal photo experience.
