Paarth & Ashka's Wedding in Udaipur, India
Paarth and Ashka's royal wedding is one to be remembered. F5 Weddings, the wedding planner, gives us an account of this fairytale story.
The universe is not made of atoms; it’s made of tiny stories. And each of these stories are made of love, laughter and happily ever after. We are about to tell you one such scintillating Royal Wedding story of Paarth and Ashka, which is no less than a fairytale. It’s an event of glitz, glamour, celebrities and everything larger than life.
How they met:
Ashka and Paarth have known each other from school and have been together for a decade. Paarth’s avant-garde proposal in Las Vegas in front of Bellagio fountain was well-coordinated with a hired flashmob.
According to the bride, the best part about a wedding is its planning! “Our families would meet hours at stretch to discuss, rarely to arrive at a decision! But post wedding, that is the part we miss. Towards the end, this could be the reason for stress. However, we had a great planning team who was looking over us all this while. To take it a notch higher, we were looking for a wedding team that was always enthusiastic and would come up with several great ideas for the wedding, and that’s how we signed on F5 Weddings”, says the gorgeous bride.
The festivities fired up with the Mehendi evening which was themed “Ram Leela”. Traditional Gujarati/Rajasthani was the dress code with glittery ghagras and bandhani safas. The couple drove in together in an auto rickshaw which was adorned with marigolds and a couple of iconic movie dialogue placards. Wearing a red and gold lehenga with aviators, the bride literally lived up to the theme. With cold pyro shooting out of the vehicle, they made the most amazing entry on a rickshaw, firing faux guns on the tunes of ‘Bhai Bhai’ from the same movie. There were plenty of activity stalls to keep guests engaged like fortune teller, DIY jewellery, palm reader and parrot fortune reader. A real life bike was parked by as a photo booth background. There were lots of performances by the couple, family and their friends.
And the best is yet to follow. Second day saw Firangi Fiesta. This was the most fun function of the wedding. It was an informal carnival, with exotic dances like Salsa and Bachata, and plenty of games like ring toss, knock the cans and balloon shooting ensured that the guests were having a good time. Drinks served in fruits were such a highlight! Salsa dancers were seen teaching guests to dance. A massive dance floor was created in the centre of the venue. The Emcee kept all the guests on their feet. Stacks of live counters were put up serving flavored popcorn, popsicles and candy floss. Life-size foosball was created, which became a huge hit. Life-size LOVE was written for a Photo OP, and a lot of fun props and shout outs were used.
The second evening witnessed The Sangeet Soiree. The event was all about enjoying the beauty of Zenana Mahal. The couple entered to the song of ‘Shandaar’ and cold pyros. The theme was Fairytale Affair and all guests were dressed in Indo-Western attire. Super singer Sonu Nigam got the house down with his popular chartbusters and kept the guests grooving till the wee hours of the night.
The Pheras was a traditional affair and it was solemnised in none other than Jag Mandir. It saw one of the most dramatic baraat entries– by boat on the still waters of Lake Pichola. This particular event was the most cherishable – Jag Mandir itself was transformed into a larger than life venue. The bride had a very spectacular entry too, as she walked in with her father along with her bridesmaids, who were all dressed in peach.
The evening Reception was a sit-down dinner with a few emotional speeches from family and friends. Fireworks illuminated the night sky over a crowd of guests. The first dance was initiated by the romantic couple, and was soon followed by several dances by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. This evening was definitely star-studded with the presence of the King of Mewar and Bollywood celebrities like Rakesh Roshan, Shekhar Suman, Inder Kumar, Jeetendra, Shailesh Lodha, Shaan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali , Abbas-Mustan and many more.
“It is the little-little things that make the biggest difference. A personalised wedding counter at the airport, flawless travel logistics management, turndown services at night – F5 Weddings took care of the smallest detail of our wedding. We even had personalized seat covers on our Charter plane! Apart from such details, they suggested the coolest entries and carried them out just perfectly”, mentions the couple.
Feelings on the Big Day:
“Our reception in Udaipur was a very intimate affair. Our parents gave beautiful speeches. It was an evening filled with multiple surprises. The same-day- edit by Dream Diaries was a touching story that summarized the wedding moments perfectly”, reveals the couple.
The bridal outfits were designed by Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, Gaurav Gupta, and Shantanu & Nikhil, while the groom’s designer wear was by Manish Malhotra, Shyamal & Bhumika, and Studio Himmat.
And when you want a fairytale wedding, there is just one absolute favourite destination, Udaipur, and that’s where the fierce and vivacious couple, Ashka and Paarth, settled on to sanctify their wedding vows. Udaipur – the land of Kings and Queens, royal palaces, picturesque lakes and gleaming sand dunes – it’s the romance and beauty of this place that makes it an ideal wedding destination. Ashka and Paarth’s wedding was not just unconventional in its venue (Jagmandir Island Palace Udaipur,), but also in the amount of fun during the ceremonies.
Performers & Performances:
There was a live performance by the eternal singer, Sonu Nigam. The family and friends of the couple performed on a number of songs as well.
Few words on the photographer, videographer, hair/make-up artist, bartenders and DJ:
Our photographers, Dream Diaries, were truly an amazing team. Before the wedding, they sat with us to understand our chemistry and our backstory, which put our minds at ease. When we see early morning or late night shots in the video or photos, we see their dedication. The same-day-edit they produced right after our wedding was the highlight, and at the same time the reason behind our guests being puzzled – how did the team catch such beautiful shots amidst the chaos of an Indian wedding AND put it all together in such a short time. Hats off to both the video and photo team of Dream Diaries. I would strongly recommend them!
My Hair and Makeup was by Subhash Shinde and his team. They also did a phenomenal job!
Our Bartenders were Mix & Flair. They were constantly on the floor and made sure everyone had a great time!
Advice for to-be-weds:
The best wedding advice for me (Paarth) came from the superstar, Abhishek Bachchan, who is a dear friend of ours. He said “Remember to say “Sorry” to your wife before you sleep every night, you will live a happy life!”
