We were invited for a staycation at one of Dubai’s most convenient hotels, JW Marriott Hotel Dubai in Deira, and boy was it a great experience!
Located just 3 km away from Dubai International Airport, it’s one of the oldest yet one of the most beautiful properties in Dubai. This polished hotel in a glass-facade building stands tall in a commercial hub, and exhibits classic yet contemporary architecture. It’s widely known for hosting some of the best weddings the city has seen, what with its unique vintage-style interiors, state-of-the-art facilities provided for its 300+ rooms, proximity to the airport and a true spirit of hospitality.
From the moment you step into the immaculate lobby, you forget you’re in a busy city. All rooms come equipped with modern amenities including high-speed internet and are stocked up with fresh fruits daily. Guests can have hearty buffet breakfasts at The Market Place restaurant, venture out to nearby malls such as Deira City Centre, shop at the Dubai Gold Souk or even the Dubai Spice Souk, or rejuvenate with swimming sessions in the outdoor heated pool and spa.
Since I’ve done a wedding planning course and run a wedding portal, the thing that excited me the most was how the Events by JW office on the lobby level of the hotel offers in-house décor solutions for weddings, thus eliminating the need to hire a wedding decorator. We were impressed with the striking table décor setting in the office, which was laden with floral centerpieces, classy silverware and elegant candelabras.
The hotel has two ballrooms, both with a spacious pre-function area. While the Deira Ballroom can accommodate up to 350 people for weddings, the Amal Ballroom can easily host 650-1000 people, and even has a hydraulic stage!

The hotel provides some fantastic culinary options for ceremonies and weddings and offers food tastings as well, wherein the Executive Chef, Chef Debrup Mitra, sits with the couple to discuss their food preferences and budget, and customizes a special menu for their Big Day. We were offered some creative and delicious Mehendi (Henna) themed cookies and even got a chance to witness the splendid wedding cakes couples can splurge on.
Apt for honeymooners as well, JW Marriott Hotel Dubai’s magnificent poolside area includes a bar and restaurant that serves shisha which will definitely help you unwind. Couples will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining in, as there are 10 premium restaurants offering an array of cuisines and a rooftop terrace that serves the best of local and international cuisines and hosts exciting themed food nights at times.
There’s a Royal Suite at the hotel, which is a 5703 square feet penthouse complete with a walk-in closet, living room, dining area, and a private pool, all under high vaulted ceilings. Priced at AED 10,000 a night, guests get access to the Executive Lounge in the hotel and can enjoy complimentary non-alcoholic beverages along with the breakfast, mid-day snack and afternoon tea, as well as avail of the complimentary airport transfer. Couples getting married at the hotel can spend a night at this Royal Suite post their wedding at a special discounted rate.
The hotel also has a ‘Creating Everlasting Memories‘ wedding package that starts from AED 175 per person for a minimum of 100 people* – with lots of attractive inclusions and complimentary benefits for the wedding couple!
