Dreaming of a Destination Wedding? Decide here!

There was a time when destination weddings were equivalent or closely synonymous to an old-school version of eloping. Believe it or not, many people thought that such a concept could only mean one thing – the family did not approve of the wedding. With time, views have changed, with destination weddings now perceived as a way to contain your guest-list to close family and friends or to make your wedding a spectacle event. Here are a few practical reasons as to why one should have a destination wedding.

1) THEY CAN BE VIRTUALLY STRESS-FREE

With the ever growing wedding-based industry, new ideas and efficient practices are being implemented all the time. Honeymoon-happy resorts and cruise lines around the globe have made the idea to wed on-site more simplified and practically appealing. These resorts/cruises have in-staff wedding planners/coordinators who are well aware of the country’s marriage license requirements and offer package deals based on your budget. These packages will include all your wedding essentials (photographer, cake, décor, priest etc.)

If you’re not getting married at a resort, hiring a wedding planner based in the country of your destination wedding is ideal. He/she will provide the same services as those in the resort or the cruise.

2) THEY CAN BE COST EFFICIENT

Try comparing the cost of your wedding where you live to a remote island in Jamaica. Imagine the turn up of your guests if you wed locally, and how many of your guests would pay for an airfare to attend your wedding in a remote island? Relatively fewer is my guess, and that’s not a bad thing. This way you save up on the cost of organizing accommodation, food etc. Any guest who wants to attend your wedding will be there regardless, so don’t hold sentiments for those who don’t attend. Also, you can use those savings on your honeymoon. It works out both ways, how about that!?

3) A RARE REUNION OPPORTUNITY

A destination wedding can be almost vacation-like. You can deal with all the paperwork and finalize your wedding arrangements by arriving a few days before the event. This way you have more quality time to spend with your distant family members and friends. How often do you get a chance to gather all your loved ones at one place? This is your golden opportunity.

4) THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE

Your wedding could be a rare opportunity for your guests to explore a city/country that they wouldn’t visit otherwise. Every destination has the potential for exploration. Your guests can take back a souvenir or a memento to remember your wedding by.

5) THE DUOLOGY

Why exhaust yourself by going to your wedding venue and then a different destination for your honeymoon when you can do all that at one place by having a destination wedding? There is no reason to deal with the stress of organizing different venues, so don’t! Opt for a destination wedding!
