Every girl wishes to look stunningly beautiful on her Wedding Day. Makeup can hide your flaws temporarily and make you look nothing less than a model on your Big Day. But have you ever thought about what will happen when the makeup comes off? That thought in itself is so scary that I have turned into an insomniac with stress a number of times, which has resulted in more pimples and dark circles, not to forget the flushed Zombie-like complexion just a month before my Wedding Day. Thankfully, in my culture, the guy isn’t allowed to see the girl a month before marriage otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this article today!

Here are some of my tried and tested facial masks which you can apply regularly since they are all natural and contain no side-effects; within a month you should notice baby soft skin with a dewy glow on your face.
- Gram flour Mask for Acne:

- Gram flour 2 teaspoon
- Milk powder 2 teaspoon
- Turmeric 1 teaspoon
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and make a thick paste with water. Apply to a cleansed face for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water. You can do it 3 times a week. This can also be used as a natural face wash.
- Yogurt Hydrating Face Mask:

- Yogurt 2 teaspoon
- Honey 1 teaspoon (Optional)
- Oats 1 teaspoon
Combine all the ingredients in a small mixing bowl and mix well. Apply a thick coat to your face and neck with clean finger tips. Let it settle for 15 to 20 minutes. When the time is up, gently rinse your face with warm water and ensure the entire mask comes off. Splash cold water on your face to close up your pores. In case you’re in a hurry, you can apply only the yogurt directly on your face – it will hydrate your skin. You can apply this daily.
- Tomato Face Mask for blemishes and scar reduction:

This is the simplest yet most effective mask for skin lightening and tightening your open pores. All you need is a slice of tomato. Rub it gently all over your face and neck. Make sure that the pulp gets applied on your face. You can also blend the tomato and mix it with honey or lemon juice, but that might get messy; the slice option is way more practical. I like to put another layer when the first one dries a little. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. Do it daily for best results.
Note: Use ingredients in accordance with your skin type. It is important to formulate your face mask in accordance with the skin you possess. Keep in mind that ideally, a facial mask should not remain on the face or skin for more than 20 minutes. It is important to wash face masks clean with a washcloth dipped in lukewarm water. Keep the wet washcloth on the dry mask and then lightly press on the face. Once the face mask becomes a little damp, dip the cloth in lukewarm water again and use a circular motion to clear the face mask. Use a cotton swab dipped in cold water to clear small particles on the face. Lastly, splash your face with cold water and dab softly with a soft towel.
These masks will not work until you start eating clean, get proper sleep and drink 2 litres of water per day. Besides these, you can also start taking detox drinks to clean toxins from your system. No stress, fried food or sodas.
