It’s never too late for celebration. Aftab Shivdasani and Nin Dusanj, who have actually been a married couple since June 2014, recently celebrated their marriage with full grandeur, three years late.
Nin Dusanj, Kabir Bedi’s sister-in-law, is a London-based Punjabi working in Hong Kong, the same city where her marriage was registered. This August, Aftab and Nin decided to revisit the elaborate wedding celebrations that they had skipped earlier, and hosted their destination wedding in Sri Lanka at Anantara Peace Haven, Tangalle. Close friends and family attended the two-day wedding celebrations, which began with Mehendi and a beach party.
For the wedding ceremony on the following day, a priest was flown in from Mumbai. The couple entered in a grand procession amid Kandyan dancers. Aftab, dressed in a cream colored sherwani designed by Troy Costa, made a royal entrance on an elephant, while Nin arrived with grace and femininity upon a doli. She looked absolutely stunning in her ivory lehenga covered with gold embroidery, a Yoshita Couture creation. After taking the pheras, the couple took a Buddhist’s blessing from the local Sri Lankan monks.
