Ankush & Bhavana’s Wedding in Bangkok, Thailand
Ankush is an entrepreneur and Bhavana is a HR and Admin Manager. In 1995, Bhavana was Ankush's secret teenage crush. In 2014, he made her his forever.
How we met:
It has been over nine years now. In 1995, he had a crush on me in school which I wasn’t aware of and then we crossed paths again after couple of years in school fete where our common friend met him after long so he saved his phone number in my mobile phone as our common friend had issues with his phone. We then got together in 2006 while we were completing our degrees in Assumption University (ABAC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
It was a little stressful as we haven’t organised something like this ever before and we didn’t hire a wedding planner either. We got ideas from the internet, other marriages we attended and a touch of creativity.
Feelings on the Big Day:
It was joyous and fulfilling and yet I was going through this emotional tsunami. I was excited to start my journey with Ankush but I felt for my parents and my darling sister Barkha Kumar who I have shared my life with. This was the day I realized I won’t be around them so much and will be missing them immensely.
Whilst it was overwhelming seeing friends and family come together to support and celebrate my big day. I am completely blessed and thankful to God to have such amazing people around me.
My aunts helped me shopped mostly as I work full time. The shopping was mainly from Dubai, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bangkok. It was stressful yet so much fun at the same time.
The mehendi function took place at the Oriental tower. For the wedding we booked the Bangkok Marriott in Sukhumvit and for the reception we booked the Holiday Inn in Sukhumvit.
Advice for to-be-weds:
Well the marriage advice is “choose your love and love your choice”. And relationship advice is that sometimes it is better to be kind than to be right. We do not need an intelligent mind that speaks, but a patient heart that listens. Focus on making people around you happy.
