Anil & Payal's Wedding in Pune, India

When a school’s ex prom King & Queen met via a relative, their love began to blossom. Here’s the story of the bride Payal, in her words, and her love Anil.

How we met:

We were both in IHS (ex-prom king & queen), but we never spoke or knew each other back then. Got connected online through my elder sister, Novina and started talking over Skype.

Wedding Planning:

It was stressful as it was the first time we were figuring it all out. We did have a wedding planner from JP events in Mumbai who helped us out. But overall there was a lot to do anyway.

Feelings on the Big Day:

I was a bit tired by the wedding day after two entire days of functions and dressing up. I was calm even when we couldn’t figure out how to place my dupatta since my outfit was very heavy. I needed one person to carry the lehenga with me to the stage. I wouldn’t say I was scared or nervous though. Was just going with the flow I guess!

Wedding Shopping:

I got my lehenga from Jaipur, two outfits from Mumbai and three outfits from Dubai. Wedding shopping was honestly a bit stressful, mainly because it was too time-consuming.

Wedding Venues:

We decided on Corinthians Resort simply because it was cost-effective & a gorgeous destination resort.

Performers and Performances:

Our family curated a skit, wherein my siblings and Anil’s cousins recorded a humorous version of our story. There were several dance performances as well.

Advice for to-be-weds:

Relax before you collapse 🙂
