Guest Post: 5 Secrets for Planning the Perfect Wedding!

If your Big Day is coming up, I’m sure you must have gone through the entire world wide web to find the most extensive checklist – and that’s exactly what you need to do if you want everything to go just perfect.

However, with that many tasks, it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture, while being nervous 24/7, because you’ll always have that feeling that you’ve forgotten something. Well, whenever you’re in doubt, you should remind yourself of these five wedding planning secrets and, I promise, things will become simpler.

Wants & Needs

You need to learn to differentiate between what’s necessary and what you want. With an unlimited budget (that unfortunately not all of us have) you can do anything – you can even enter your wedding by riding an elephant. Considering the fact that this probably isn’t your case, you need to sort each budget dilemma by placing your problems in one of the following two columns – wants and needs.

Don’t Get Subjected to Expectations

Parents and the rest of your families can be extraordinarily difficult when it comes to weddings and you should be able to understand why that is – they have been waiting for this day probably longer than you. It’s okay for you to meet some of their expectations, but the bottom line is that you’re the one getting married and if their desires are contradictory to yours, you need to learn how to say no.

It Doesn’t Have to Be Overpriced

It’s not necessary to spend a small fortune in order to have a beautiful wedding. Small weddings can be absolutely charming, but if you have a really tight budget, you need to be very careful when making decisions. The most valuable piece of advice I can give you regarding this is that you should start at least six months earlier – that way you’ll be able to explore every option, find the cheapest solution and harmonize all the details into one gorgeous wedding.

Rehearsal of Everything

The only way to be certain that everything is going according to plan is to rehearse it. So, before you make the final decision regarding your wedding menu, make sure to taste every piece of food so that you’re positive that your guests will enjoy everything. This goes for wedding dresses and bridesmaids’ outfits as well, and don’t dare to forget the final rehearsal dinner, because that is the only time you can adjust some details if you don’t like a thing or two.

The Big Picture

And I do mean looking at the big picture – having an experienced wedding photographer is very important because he/ she is the only one in charge of all the memories you’ll be left with. Many engaged couples often forget to ask what’s included in the overall service and I’d like to remind you to ask about video editing services and whether or not you can expect them. Naturally, this is something you require from your videographer, so make sure to learn about their style.

If you have your goal in mind – which is starting the rest of your life with a person you love – you should be aware of the fact that nothing else matters. Organizing a wedding is the first test for a couple that is going to get married, and if you join forces, I’m sure everything will fall into place.
